A customer of our Vehicle workshop SAVTRANS Berlin contacted us with the following problem: the indicator light is illuminated, the oil level in the engine is dropping and after the vehicle has been stationary for a while, drops of oil can be seen on the tarmac.

Our mechanic Andrej lifted the vehicle onto the lift and carried out a diagnosis.
When we started to inspect the underbody in the engine area, everything was heavily splattered with oil, so we couldn't detect the problem during the first inspection.
To be on the safe side, Andrej washed the underbody of the Mercedes Sprinter in the engine area, and the next day
the customer came back.
The following was found when the vehicle was lifted as part of the diagnosis:
- Leak in the vacuum valve of the turbine control unit

In the experience of our foremen, the cause of the malfunction was the poor quality of the vacuum pump seals.

After replacing the vacuum pump, the indicator light no longer lights up, the oil level is normal and there are no oil leaks.
Dear readers of this article, if you own a car and have noticed oil stains on the tarmac or the indicator light comes on, we recommend that you do not wait, but contact us, AUTOSERVICE SAVTRANS Berlin, immediately and we will definitely rectify the fault.
