Today our Savtrans Berlin garage one Volkswagen Golf 5, model year 2011, 1.4 TSI with turbocharger accepted for repair. The customer complained that the vehicle had no pulling power, the engine was stuttering and the idling was unsteady.

Diagnosis
Our mechanics began with the diagnosis. They checked the glow plugs, carried out an electronic diagnosis and checked the compression in the cylinders. The diagnosis revealed the following:
- No compression in the third cylinder
There can be several reasons for a lack of compression, including
- Metal abrasion on the piston
- Wear of the piston rings
- Damaged cylinder head
- Burnout of the exhaust valve

Workflow
Our mechanics from the Savtrans Berlin garage have decided together with the customer to upgrade the engine.
This process was carried out by our mechanic Nikolai. He disconnected all cables and mechanical parts from the vehicle so that the engine could be removed. After the engine of a Volkswagen Golf 5, model year 2011, 1.4 TSI was removed, Nikolai began to dismantle all the add-on parts from the engine.
Cause of the loss of compression
After removing the cylinder head, the following was found:
- The exhaust valve of the third cylinder was burnt out
Our mechanics carried out a complete replacement of the piston system and cleaned the cylinder head. All the add-on parts were then reassembled step by step with the utmost precision and the engine was installed in the vehicle.
We then carried out another full electronic diagnosis, a visual inspection and a test drive. We successfully completed the repair and the customer collected his vehicle.
