A customer brought their Škoda Octavia 1.6 TDI to us via breakdown truck – Savtrans Berlin Vehicle Workshop – for an ECU programming. The vehicle would no longer start after the battery was replaced.

Car won't start after battery change?
Modern vehicles have an onboard computer that stores data on system status. When replacing the battery, adaptation or control settings can sometimes become disarranged; in such cases, reprogramming the system is necessary.

Control Unit Programming in Berlin – how it works
Master Stas began with the diagnostics. He connected a computer with the appropriate software for this Škoda Octavia. Once the scanner was fully synchronised with the vehicle's control unit, Stas reloaded the factory settings. It took about an hour for everything to function correctly again. The car started, and all the control unit's systems were working properly.

Dear customers and website visitors. Please note: If your vehicle is less than 10 years old, replacing the battery can cause disturbances in the control system and the entire electronic system. Only a specialised car workshop like ours is able to reprogram the vehicle system. Please book an appointment on the number +49 176 76766771
Our car workshop Savtrans in 13055 Berlin Lichtenberg (Gärtnerstraße 17-18) specialises in vehicle electronics and ECU programming. We work with professional diagnostic software for all vehicle makes – Škoda, VW, BMW, Mercedes and many more. The costs for a reprogramming are fair and transparent.
